As a thank you for choosing TriCounty, here are a few deals worth hanging onto!
Test soil moisture with your finger or a moisture meter — not guesswork.
Water slowly and deeply right after planting.
More isn't better. Overwatering leads to fungal disease, weeds, and pest problems. When in doubt, less is more.
Grab a screwdriver and push it into the soil at the greenest part of your lawn. If it won't go at least 6 inches in, it's time to adjust your schedule — you're not getting deep enough.
Position your sprinkler to cover as much of the lawn as possible. If water starts running off, shut it down for about 20 minutes and let it soak in before continuing.
Watering in the morning before the sun comes up is best; watering in the evening is ok too. Avoid watering mid-day.
